Facial Implants

Facial implants may be utilized in conjunction with a facelift or as an independent procedure. Cheekbone implants may be used to augment the cheeks when there is a deficiency due to inadequate projection of the cheeks or due to overlying tissue loss. The cheekbone implants are placed through an incision made inside the mouth. When the patient needs more projection in the chin we use implants in this area. They are placed through a small incision made under the chin. In a younger patient that needs augmentation in this area, we may cut the chin and move it forward. This incision is made inside the mouth and after the chin is advanced it is held with bone plates. Dr. Griffin designed his own plates for this procedure.
