Brow & Forehead Lift
Dr. Griffin performs brow and forehead lifts to raise eyebrows and reduce ridges and furrows on the forehead, thus creating a smoother, more youthful appearance. This procedure can be performed in conjunction with other surgeries.
Newer techniques allows us to perform Forehead Lifting through small incisions in the scalp by using an Endoscope and specialized instruments. This accelerates the healing process.
Dr. Griffin may also recommend the use of Botox prior to your procedure to reduce the muscle function during the healing process. This will decrease the possibility of relapse due to muscle pull.
Post-Operative Information
Antibiotics may be prescribed for several days following surgery. Sutures are generally removed within one week. Swelling and some bruising may occur, they should subside within a few weeks. Our doctors will suggest the use of ice compresses and other instructions to reduce swelling. Women will be allowed to use eye cosmetics up to two weeks after surgery. You can proceed with your normal daily activities within 1-2 weeks. A final evaluation may occur within several months from the initial surgical procedure. This evaluation will determine if skin needs to be removed from the upper eyelids after the brows have been elevated.
Insurance
Our office does not file insurance for cosmetic surgery. Vision may be improved after surgery if there is a field of vision defect, but we do not work with insurance company’s due to the uncertainty of coverage.
