Laser Skin Resurfacing
We use the CO2 laser with a pattern generator for skin resurfacing. The laser allows the cosmetic surgeon to reduce more pronounced lines and wrinkles than other treatments. It reaches deeper layers and therefore can be only administered by the doctor. We use a pattern generator that allows us to control the density of the treatment, therefore allowing for very precise control. The power of the laser allows us to control the depth of the treatment. We start at lower power levels and density and then increase both with each treatment depending on the response of the patient’s skin. To obtain maximum improvement, usually six treatments are performed four to six weeks apart. The treatments are performed in the office setting using topical anesthetic. There is no down time for the treatments as the treatment only results in slight redness and some small bleeding points may be seen initially. There is light peeling of the area three to five days later.
