Bernardo F. Brasileiro, DDS, MSD, PhD has more than eighteen years of clinical, administrative, teaching, and research experience in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He obtained his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery 4-year residency training combined with a Masters and PhD degree in Brazil, a 1-year fellowship in Orthognathic Surgery at the University of Kentucky, a 2-year General Practice Residency at the University of Kentucky, and more recently he has also graduated from an advanced training in Epidemiology and Statistics at the Harvard Medical School. He also maintains a position as Professor in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, College of Dentistry, Federal University of Sergipe in Brazil. These accomplishments are evident in his diligent academic performance, having published more than 23 scientific papers, 4 book chapters, participating in numerous scientific meetings, and having more than 940 literary citations.
This extensive professional dedication has provided Dr. Brasileiro with comprehensive clinical and academic experience in dentistry, with expanded expertise in oral and maxillofacial surgery. His skills repertoire includes management of patients within full scope within the specialty, including maxillofacial pathologies, simple and complicated exodontia, complex odontogenic infectious, orthognathic surgery and maxillofacial trauma. Additionally. Dr. Brasileiro has special interest in treating patients with maxillofacial deformities by means of reconstructive surgery with dental implants and bone grafts using cutting-edge technology through digital planning. Now, Dr. Brasileiro joins Dr. Griffin’s prestigious fellowship program in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery at Baptist Memorial Hospital to earn additional expertise in contemporary facial cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
